Moving Staff and Student file storage to the cloud
Everyone is all hyped up about the "cloud" and how great it is. Have you thought about moving your stuff to the cloud? What's holding you up? It's a cloud - clouds are all soft and fluffy, nothing to be afraid of! 2 years ago Tri County Schools moved all file storage for both staff and students to Google Cloud and it's been great. In this session we'll talk about what made us move to the cloud, what went well, and what didn't. We'll discuss things to consider as you make plans to move to the cloud, stakeholders to get involved in each phase of the plan, and things to look out for as you make the change. Whether you're a Google school or an Office 365 school, this session should have something for everyone.

8 Tips for Protecting Student Privacy & District Data in EdTech
How many new apps and/or vendors has your district adopted in the past few years? You might be surprised to learn it’s likely far more than you think.

The edtech industry is exploding. At the same time, students, teachers, and staff are using their district Google account to sign up for a wide variety of apps (either on purpose or accidentally). While some of these apps can provide benefits, many are creating real student privacy concerns and data security risks.

Data privacy and data security go hand-in-hand. This is particularly true when it comes to applications that have access to your district’s data—whether or not they’re approved.

After attending this session, participants will understand why they need visibility into the edtech apps connected to their domain. You will leave with actionable steps you can take to manage and control these apps through positive collaboration and transparency with your stakeholders.

Memoirs of a Bruised Tech - Part 2
Customer service skills are as essential as the skills required to resolve issues for our teachers, students, staff, and parents. Sometimes tales of our woes and triumphs can help those "green and seasoned" alike to provide growth in the customer service arena. This session will focus on those tales and the lessons learned, specifically the phrase "It's not what you say, it's how you say it". Audience participation will be encouraged, but not required, so that we can all share our own tales and lessons learned.
